Tirzepatide is a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist, FDA-approved as Zepbound® for chronic weight management and as Mounjaro® for type 2 diabetes. It is one of the most effective weight-management medications available, and also a serious prescription drug that deserves real medical supervision rather than a quick checkout form.

Tirzepatide is a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist. GLP-1 and GIP are incretin hormones your body already releases after eating. They regulate insulin, slow stomach emptying, and signal fullness to the brain. Tirzepatide activates both receptors, which is the key difference from semaglutide (a single-pathway GLP-1 agonist). FDA-approved as Zepbound® (chronic weight management) and Mounjaro® (type 2 diabetes), it is administered as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection.

Because it affects appetite, gastric emptying, and insulin regulation, tirzepatide is a serious prescription, not something to order from a pop-up website. At our practice it is dosed by a physician, titrated to your response, and adjusted based on your labs and follow-up visits.

Yes. Tirzepatide is FDA-approved as Zepbound® for chronic weight management and as Mounjaro® for type 2 diabetes — both are verifiable in the FDA drug database. Compounded versions of tirzepatide also exist, produced by licensed 503A/503B compounding pharmacies under a physician’s prescription when clinically indicated — these are not FDA-approved finished products, and are a different category from brand-name Zepbound or Mounjaro. We use FDA-approved tirzepatide when appropriate for your plan.

One medication that is not available anywhere, including Las Vegas, is retatrutide, a newer, investigational triple-receptor agonist still in Phase 3 trials. Searching for Mounjaro in Las Vegas or Zepbound in Las Vegas leads to the same medication: both brands are tirzepatide, made by Eli Lilly. The FDA-approved use is what separates them, and which brand fits you depends on your diagnosis and goals — determined at the evaluation, not by whichever ad you saw last.

The honest answer starts with a physician, not a checkout page. Tirzepatide is prescription-only in Nevada, so an evaluation with Dr. Kamen (history, goals, and baseline labs) comes first. If it is clinically appropriate, it is prescribed and dispensed by a licensed US pharmacy.

Be careful of “research chemical” or gray-market vendors advertising tirzepatide online without a prescription. These products are not manufactured, tested, or labeled for human use, and we strongly recommend against them — there is no way to verify their purity, dose accuracy, or sterility outside of a licensed pharmacy. What you can do today is book an $88 evaluation — in person at our southeast Las Vegas clinic at Eastern Avenue and the 215, or by secure telehealth anywhere in Nevada.

• Ongoing management — a separate charge; ask for the fee, billing frequency, and follow-up visits included. Lab testing is included in this fee.
• Laboratory testing — included in the ongoing management fee, so there is no separate per-test lab billing during care.
• Medication at pharmacy pass-through cost, no markup — charged separately at what the licensed US pharmacy charges, based on your prescription.
